Laura M. Morris

Laura M. Morris, 83, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Monday, June 15, 2015, at 8:15 p.m. at her home. Mrs. Morris was born November 4, 1931, in Springfield, Ohio to George W. and Ruth Hawke Dowler. She moved here from Springfield in 1965.

She formerly owned and operated Sister's Tanning and was a member of the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, Harry K. Morris on November 20, 1991; by a daughter, Gail L. Russell in 1994; a grandson, Harrison Garringer; a brother, George Dowler; a sister, Ella McGinnis and a brother-in-law, Wendell Stokes.

She is survived by a son, Keith Morris of Chillicothe; three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Y. and James Wolfe of Washington Court House; Lenora D. and Raymond Butcher of Greenfield and Ruth M. and Gordon Garringer of Washington Court House; 12 grandchildren, including Brian Keith Morris who was reared as a son; several great and great great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Stokes of Springfield, Ohio; special friend, Marge McLaughlin of Washington Court House and her beloved dog, Prince.

The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, June 19, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Patrick W. Rogers, minister at the church. Burial will follow in the Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church, 219 South North Street, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
